Mr. Engineer Mujib ur Rahman Umar Akhundzadeh, Deputy Minister of Water of the Ministry of Energy and Water, virtually participated in the thirteenth meeting of the Board of Governors of the Regional Center of Urban Water Management, which was held in Tehran, on Thursday.

 The Regional Center for Urban Water Management is an organization under the leadership of the United Nations Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with the membership of 19 countries in the region and around 10 international organizations for capacity building and sharing experiences related to the water sector, is active in the field of scientific research and the development of regional cooperation in the field of water.

 In this meeting, the Deputy Minister of Water, in his speech, discussed the situation of Afghanistan's water resources, the adverse effects of climate change on water resources, drinking water supply problems and solutions in Kabul and other big cities, and urban water supply.  He discussed the development of cooperation between the countries of the region in the field of management.

 The meeting started at 10:00 a.m. Afghanistan time and continued until 1:30 p.m., in which the past activities and future plans of the center were reviewed in addition to the speeches of the representatives of the member countries of the Council of Governors.
