In Takhar Province, the project of strengthening the banks of the Amu River has been started.

Takhar province’s Amo river banks Strengthening project has been started at the Zero point of Ai Khanum Dam of Dasht Qala district, in the presence of Mr. Mujib ur Rahman Umar Akhundzada, Deputy Minister of Water Of the Ministry of Energy and Water, Mr. Engineer Rafiullah Mujtaba, Chief of General Panj Amo River Basin, Mr. Engineer Abdul Wahid Rajab, the head of lower Panj Sub river basin, and some other local officials.
In the opening meeting of the mentioned project, the Deputy Minister of Water of the ministry of Energy and Water emphasized on the speed and quality of this project and gave assurance of the beginning of the practical work in the areas affected by the water of the Amu River in the mentioned province.
It is worth mentioning that two days ago, the works of strengthening the banks of Amu River in Qarqin District of Jawzjan Province were started in the presence of the Deputy minister of Water of the Ministry of Energy and Water and some local officials.
